TheeffectoftemperingonthemagneticBarkhausennoise(MBN)signalprofilewas studiedincase-carburisedEN36steelusingarangeof magneticexcitationfrequenciesandanumberoffrequencyrangesforanalysisofthe MBNsignal.TheMBNlevelgenerallyincreaseswith temperingduetocoarseningofthemicrostructure.Withhighervaluesofexcitation frequency,fEX,theMBNprofileexhibitsasinglepeak, butwithlowvaluesoffEX,doublepeaksareobserved.
